AI as a Catalyst in Material Discovery

We treat artificial intelligence as a catalyst for design discovery more than a post-production accessory. During the earliest material research phase, custom diffusion models generate high-resolution studies of ceramic glazes—testing how color, porosity, and surface texture respond to Stuttgart’s humidity and light angles across the year. These AI-driven images function as analytical sketches. The visuals also power our narrative workflow. We curate the most evocative frames, annotate them with environmental data, and weave them into storyboard sheets that describe a resident’s journey from street to skycourt. Each storyboard acts as a brief for the parametric model: balcony depths, façade perforations, and communal terraces are dimensioned directly from the atmospheres depicted in the AI imagery. This loop—generate, narrate, parametrise—turns abstract research into spatial sequences that can be costed, constructed, and lived in.

Porcelain Bay with Seasonal Views

Tile modulation and arched openings align with solar angles, optimizing daylight and creating a fluid visual frame of the outside.

Surface Meets Skyline

Ceramic reflectivity and edge detailing mirror both user gestures and the exterior cityscape—material meets context.

Sleep in the Grid

Window repetition becomes a spatial language, with deep frames and ceramic density creating acoustic and visual calm.

Dialogues in Depth

Undulating tile reliefs soften morning light and reflect human scale into the material expression of sleep space.

Wrapped in Green

The continuity between headboard and wall creates an immersive volume, where body and architecture quietly align.

Glaze and Garden

Matte-glazed, uneven tiles dissolve into reflections of the exterior forest, blurring the line between interior and canopy.

Kitchen as Ceramic Lab

The kitchen walls, counters, and shelves form an experimental field of material tactility and light absorption.

Spatial Archive

Library units curve around window bays and follow ceiling logic, embedding knowledge into the room’s geometry.

Envelope as Identity

The ceramic façade doubles as both thermal skin and visual signature—green, gridded, reflective, and unforgettable.

Immersive Previews: Bridging Vision and Reality

To move from still frames to immersive experience, we employ a mixed pipeline—using diffusion models for rapid variations and precision-focused AI for detailed upscaling. This process enables stakeholders to experience the project with unprecedented clarity, both visually and narratively. The resulting architecture is both data-driven and story-infused: every ceramic tile and corner loggia emerges from a dialogue between human intuition and machine imagination, embodying a new paradigm for design in the age of AI.
